XASCII v. 3.0

Handy Windows Help File with the ASCII Codes for Windows

Those using ASCII and ASCII-based editors to write Windows-based text
(even Message Boxes) and Help files have probably
discovered that the Extended ASCII characters (numbers 127 to 255) print out
differently on Windows Files. That symbol, for example, is not even
in the ASCII set, but you get it in Windows by typing in ASCII
character number 174 (The double left arrow []). If you want the double left
arrow in most Windows files, you have to type in the ASCII character number 171
which is normally the one-half (). And so ad infinitum!

XASCII.HLP is simply a help file which you can open just like any other Windows
Help file. It contains the ASCII numbers and their characters AS THEY APPEAR
in WINDOWS and on Windows Help Files. XASCII also points out the characters that
create error messages in most compilations. What can be easier to use to look
for help with than a Help file?

Copy XASCII.HLP into any convenient directory or folder. Add the icon to
any Window or program group as you would any Windows icon.

file copying fee. It is not public domain, but XASCII is Copyright 1994-1997

of Shareware Professionals (ASP). ASP wants to make sure
that the shareware principle works for you. If you are
unable to resolve a shareware-related problem with an ASP
member by contacting the member directly, ASP may be able
to help. The ASP Ombudsman can help you resolve a dispute
or problem with an ASP member, but does not provide
technical support for members' products. Please write to
the ASP Ombudsman at 545 Grover Road, Muskegon, MI
